I am learning to identify capital letters, full stops, exclamation marks and question marks.

"I don't know what to read at the end of the story.  I can point to the words, I can look at the pictures. I can read to my sister, and I know what a full stop looks like.  Mrs Wyatt helps me to read."

I am learning to write my idea in a sentence that makes sense.

"I make finger spaces when I write.  Sometimes I forget them. I am a good 'word detective', and I look for words all around the classroom, and today I found 'was' on the the word wall.  Mrs Wyatt was very happy."

I am learning to count forwards and backwards to 20.

"I don't know what is 100 +, that is what I find hard.  I can count to 20.  Mrs Wyatt helps me do maths."
